About
«Ki» is the seventh LP-release by Japanese new age and electronic music composer Kitarō. It exemplifies Kitarō's signature style of blending synthesizers, flutes, and ambient soundscapes to evoke themes of nature, spirituality, and tranquility. The title «Ki» (気) translates to "energy" or "spirit" in Japanese, reflecting the album's meditative essence.
It was recorded at Kitarō's Yasaka Atelier in Japan and marks a pivotal work in his early international breakthrough, following his involvement with the «Silk Road» TV series soundtrack.
There are significant correlations between the meanings of the Japanese term "Ki" (気) and the concept of energy "Prana" in Hinduism (as well as "Qi" in Chinese tradition). They all relate to the fundamental concept of a life force or universal energy that permeates and animates all living things.
