About
«Silver Cloud» (Japanese: 飛雲, literally meaning "Flying Cloud") is a studio album by Japanese musician and composer Kitaro in the new age and ambient genres. The album was originally released in Japan and Europe in 1983. However, it was reissued internationally, including on compact disc and vinyl, in 1984 by Polydor and in 1985 by Geffen Records for the US market.
The album was recorded at Kitaro's own studio, Kitaro Nagano Yasaka Atelier, far from civilization and the bustle of life, a fact reflected in the music. Kitaro wrote all the music and arrangements himself, and played most of the instruments, including various synthesizers (Korg, Roland, Prophet 5, Mini Moog, Yamaha DX-7), electric pianos, acoustic guitars, sitar, santoor, drums, and percussion.
